⭐ Texas was an independent republic for nearly 10 years before joining the United States in 1845.

⭐ The Texas Declaration of Independence was signed at Washington-on-the-Brazos on March 2, 1836.

⭐ Gonzales is home to the “Come and Take It” cannon – the first battle of the Texas Revolution!
