Description
American Rococo Revival mahogany single-door armoire, second quarter 19th century, of the type crafted for the antebellum New Orleans market attributed to Prudent Mallard. A molded and beaded cornice over a mirrored single door, the base with a full-width drawer, raised on bun feet. Height 99 1/2″, width 57 1/2″, depth 24 5/8″. The armoire exhibits the common design elements associated with Mallard, including the distinctive segmented twist turnings at the corners.
